Description: Faulkner University's Department of Humanities is seeking a full-time instructor with expertise in the area of interdisciplinary historical surveys. Teaching responsibilities include the core Western Cultural Heritage sequence and other courses based on the qualifications of the successful candidate and program needs. The position also requires a commitment to student advisement, committee responsibilities, and research. The successful candidate must demonstrate a commitment to Christ-centered Liberal Arts education, Christian service, the mission of Faulkner University, and the mission of the Department of Humanities.

Qualifications: An earned doctorate in the field of Humanities or equivalent. Applicants must also possess teaching experience at the college level.

Timeline for Applications: Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. The review of applications will begin immediately.

Timeline for Employment: The candidate selected must be available to assume the duties of the position for fall 2007.

Funding: This position is dependent upon the availability of funding.

Application Requirements: All applicants for faculty positions are required to submit the following materials:
a. A cover letter indicating interest in the position.
b. A summary of qualification for the position based on the position description and the desired qualifications.
c. A vita.
d. A statement of teaching philosophy in a Christian liberal arts institution.
e. A statement of church affiliation and acceptance of institutions values.
f. A list of at least three academic/professional references with telephone and email contact information.
g. A copy of all academic transcripts. (An official copy must be submitted prior to formal employment.
h. A completed institutional application. This must be requested from Human Resources at rdavis@faulkner.edu or 334-386-7230.
i. A completed diversity data form. This must be requested from the Diversity Director at diversity@faulkner.edu
